Our History
From a hotel basement in 1986 to a multi-line powerhouse, URL Insurance Group is a story of passion, perseverance, and family.
It all began with a dream. Two fathers and coaches, Gary Clemens and Dick Basciano, started a life insurance brokerage with United Republic Life that led to the purchase of the name URL Inc. They got their start in the basement of a hotel with just one employee. Over time they meticulously expanded their offerings, venturing into annuities, individual and group health, and Medicare. Each step brought onboard specialists, crafting teams dedicated to exceeding expectations in their domains.
Today, URL is more than just insurance. It's a collaborative force, operating as one company while empowering specialized teams to excel in their fields. This unique structure fosters cross-selling capabilities, creating immense value for our agent partners. As an independent, family-owned business, we thrive in the relationship-driven insurance industry. Led by the second generation, Ken and Steve Clemens, alongside a dedicated leadership team and nearly 50 employees, URL continues to push boundaries and empower success.
