Our Life and Annuity Department is led by Steve Clemens, who has over 23 years of experience specializing in linked-benefit life and LTCI plans. Our team includes Matt Alina, Final Expense Manager, who has been with URL for 23 years and specializes in product support, underwriting, and marketing. I’m Cody Wilbert, focusing on annuities for the past 8 years, providing product, software, and case-building support for fixed and indexed annuities. Jason Collins, our Single Premium Life Specialist, also has 8 years of experience and works across both annuities and life products. Together, our team brings more than 60 years of combined experience, and 95% of the time, when you call the Life or Annuity Department, you’ll reach one of us directly.
Our New Business Specialists include Rosemary Evans and Rachel Patton on the life team and Maria Adams on the annuity team. Rosemary works with agents whose last names begin with A through L, while Rachel handles M through Z. Maria provides application scrubbing, business status updates, and quoting support. Collectively, they bring an additional 65 years of experience, ensuring you receive expert, efficient service.
In Life and Annuity, we provide personalized case and illustration building, application review and scrubbing for cleaner submissions, specialized marketing assistance, and access to powerful quoting and recommendation software, including RMD calculators and application tools.
We focus on safe investment products, including fixed and fixed indexed annuities with guaranteed terms ranging from one to ten years, and single premium life products that bridge life and annuity benefits. Current fixed rates average 5.5 to 5.8 percent for five- to seven-year terms, making them ideal for clients seeking CD alternatives, income deferral, or compound interest growth. Our fixed indexed annuities, available in three- to fourteen-year terms, offer bonuses up to twelve percent and full market protection from losses. Many include performance trigger indexes that credit 8 to 9 percent when markets are flat or slightly positive, with optional buy-up features for higher caps.
These products provide guaranteed income, tax deferral, and portfolio diversification — a great fit for clients transitioning to safer investments in retirement. Our quoting software, Annuity Rate Watch, provides real-time top-rate reports, income projections, and customizable marketing materials branded with your name.

Now, let’s move to the Medicare Department. I’m Christie Wilbert, Senior Vice President of Medicare. I started in insurance in 2005 and transitioned from P&C to Medicare — the best move I ever made. Our Medicare team includes Karen McDaniel in compliance and our support team members Ben, Samantha, and Olivia. Olivia’s background in social media marketing has been especially valuable for lead generation.
We host the annual Medicare Connections Conference at the Hershey Lodge on August 22, 2025. It’s free to attend, with over twenty vendors and great networking opportunities. Medicare is an excellent market to enter — 10,000 people turn 65 every day, and clients rely on agents to help them navigate complex coverage options and avoid costly gaps. Medicare sales provide consistent renewals, creating a steady and growing income stream.
The best time to start selling Medicare is now, not just during AEP. Most enrollments happen between January and September, especially during summer retirements. Getting started is simple: hold a health insurance license, complete the AHIP exam (which is online and open book), get certified and contracted with carriers, and then begin marketing. All contracting is paperless through SureLC, making it easy to add new carriers once your profile is complete.
The Orion Client Services division, managed by Kelly, handles client referrals and shares compensation with you. Many agents use it when clients move out of state or need coverage outside their licensed areas. This ensures your clients always receive quality service and that you maintain your client relationships while earning referral income.
